Curiosity reviews: Samsung HZ10w (WB500) and HZ15w (WB550)
Samsung has been trying its hand (after a long absence and delay) in the consumer zoom segment with the new HZ-series. Their only previous non-hybrid superzoom was the giantsumer Pro 815. One of the cameras that is part of the new HZ-series is the HZ10w (aka WB500). And Let's Go Digital has just posted their review of it. We pick up their coverage at the conclusions page. You can use the navigation bar at the top of their page to get to the other parts of the review. Be careful where you point your mouse - there are a number of "magic" words that cause annoying windows to pop onto the screen and stay until you click them away - you can thank us later for not having these type of crap on this blog!
The camera also received a review in April by Photo Review and it was announced at CES 2009.
Next we move to Photography Blog where they review the HZ15w (WB550), which came out in late February and offers a bigger screen and two more megapixels over the HZ10w. Again, beware of magic keywords causing annoying pop-under windows. Again, you can thank us later for not having these on this blog :)
Update!
Another review of the HZ15w (WB550) that we forgot to mention in our regular review cycle was posted a week ago at Photo Review, so you can get another opinion on it. Especially since Samsung cameras are typically not on the high-priority list of many reviewers (and buyers).
