Curiosity review: Kodak Z980 megazoom with faux-grip at Digital Camera Review
"Curiosity reviews" are typically the first reviews of a new digital camera that has a new or unique or off-beat feature that raises eye-brows of curiosity among fans of various brands. One such camera is the Kodak Z980, a mega-zoom announced at CES 2009. Apart from a 24x zoom lens, it featured a detachable non-battery vertical grip that looks like a more flattened battery grip. Ironically perhaps, the extra shutter button is actually on the camera body, not the grip.
So with that as a preface, we present to you the Z980 review at Digital Camera Review. There you will find out what they thought of this faux-grip, see full-size sample pictures taken with the camera, and ...learn how to launch the lens cap into space :)
The review verifies that this camera does have RAW and becomes officially a RAWsumer. Sometimes Kodak forgets to mention the RAW feature loudly in their camera announcements and press releases.
As usual, we won't reveal the conclusions here, which you can find towards the bottom of the review.
