Rumor roundup: Sony DSLR chatter increases

If you follow the Rumor Diary, you may have seen these already, but for those who are not totally into rumors, we have prepared a round-up of the latest chatter.

And, as they say on TV, the Sony DSLR chatter continues to pick up momentum. The Twitter page of a market intelligence firm out of San Diego (Gap Intelligence) is twiting that there are three Sony Alpha DSLRs, the A230, A330 and A380.

Meanwhile Spanish news blog Foto Actualidad notices that Adorama has a big discount on the Alpha A350 2-lens and battery grip kit, offering it for $800, just $100 more than the single-lens kit. This is a Sony-boxed bundle!

In other rumoralia, there's a new Kindle with a bigger (still b+w) screen allegedly to be announced on Wednesday according to CNet Crave. Kindle is something to follow for photographers, and be sure to keep this nugget in the back of your mind, because once it gets a bigger size and has a nice color display, it will become very photograph-friendly, which means more ways to showcase and sell your photographic work. And the Kindle is not just an e-book reader, but it is Amazon's advanced scout, part of their power-play in defining the next-gen hardware platform. Meanwhile, PDN Pulse has another theory on possible Kindle expansion that may also be of interest to photographers, at least those working in advertising and publishing.
