New Olympus E620 reviews at Digital Camera Review, Pop Photo June issue

It is turning into an Olympus E620 day today! In addition to the Focus Numerique RAW samples mentioned earlier, a new review of the camera has just gone live at Digital Camera Review. Apart from the usual review features, there are three tables that compare "computer data" between this and four other competitor's DSLRs (burst mode, shutter lag, and press-to-capture).

You will also find a carefully selected scene illustrating six Art filters, and of course the customary ISO 100 to 3200 scene. It's a good thing for diehard E620 fans that there are no crops from other DSLRs in this segment :) The conclusions are towards the bottom, but as always we won't reveal them here. Needless to say, you need to get a blank piece of paper, and start trading-off if you are in the market for a new DSLR these days :-)

Next up, the June 2009 print edition of Popular Photography and Imaging has the Olympus E620 review as this issue's spotlight review (starts on page 68). The review is written by Philip Ryan, who also wrote Pop Photo's hands-on preview last month. The review will eventually find its way to their website. As usual, we won't reveal the findings here either.

But wait, there's more! I don't recall if we mentioned this on-going review here, but there is an on-going review of the camera at OlympusE620review.com, created by a photographer-blogger.

For more on the camera, be sure to check its list of reviews.

Prices and Availability
The E620 was part of a trio of Olympus DSLRs that dropped $100 in price on May 1st, but now more retailers have joined the party, so it is a good time to have a nice recap.

Needless to say, the best bang for the buck is the two-lens kit, because you get the 40-150mm zoom lens for an extra $100. All the reputable retailers below have the same price, the only variables are shipping and handling and sales tax.

Best E620 two-lens kit prices
+ $800 in-stock and shipping: Amazon (Amazon itself, 17th, OneCall), Adorama, OneCall, B&H Photo, J&R World
