Goodbye Pentax K30D name!

Share/Save/Bookmark

A forum user at the PentaxForums forums by the name of "JCPentax", says that there won't be a K30D DSLR. The working name for the K7 was "K30", but then they switched to K7. Please note though that this is not an official statement from Pentax, but as Matt points out in Comment #1, he is a product manager at Pentax.

So if you were holding out for a K30D, it looks like there won't be one - or at least one is not in the current plans. There just doesn't seem to be enough space to justify a K30D, considering the K7 and K20D [reviews] feature sets and prices. Now this could mean perhaps that the K200D [reviews] replacement may grow upwards and put some space between it and the K2000/Km [reviews].

That also servers as the unofficial tombstone of our experimental Pentax K30D rumor diary. We won't close it just yet, but obviously, it won't be updated very often.
