Four Thirds coalition takes over CIPA!
The Four Thirds coalition has taken over CIPA, as Olympus and Panasonic executives have now taken the top two spots at CIPA, replacing a Canon executive at the top. The Olympian Tsuyoshi Kikukawa has taken the top spot, with the Panasonician Yoshida Mori as the Robin. This was of course part of their normal cycle of operations, they did not stage a photographic coup!
You can read all about it computer-translated or check an English-version of the press release available as a PDF file (link is a PDF file). The CIPA website is currently experiencing some slowness.
CIPA is an industry group in Japan, the Camera & Imaging Products Manufacturers Association, with all the major Japanese manufacturers (and HP Japan) participating.
