Engadget evaluates a handful compact digital cameras
One interesting trend we have been observing the last few months is that the "gadget blogs" are starting to "grow" in terms of camera-content, so you get more than just "unboxing videos". At the same time, some of the second-tier and third-tier camera review sites are producing reviews that are fluff-filled and formulaic, and include too much of the press-release and spec-sheet and not enough "review". If this trend continues, the gadget-blogs may end up providing more useful (for evaluation purposes) content than the review-factory camera reviews.
That is a long preface for this, the Engadget compact camera group test, which features a variety of point-and-shoot cameras. As usual, we won't reveal the winners of the test or the individual categories.
