DSLR sales in UK (March 2009) a mixed bag
The Amateur Photographer UK recaps the DSLR (and compact) sales numbers in the UK for the month of March 2009. There are good-news/bad-news in the report, but it continues with the overall theme of 2009 that this will be the year where global camera growth hits a wall, a wall built by the global economic recession and overall "bearishness". But GfK is confident about DSLR growth in the UK market.
We think (speculate) that if/when the global recession fears for the worse start to disappear (or at least get contained), then DSLRs will likely continue to pick up sales growth momentum, as new features, such as DSLR-Video, lower prices, and more compact and consumer-friendly models will bring in more buyers.
