Camera Heresy: Use Last Year's Model?
Before we get started with this post, we have to apologize in advance for posting this heresy!
A number of high-profile tech-blogger divas (oops, I meant personalities) have joined hippy hands to promote an environmentally-friendly reuse-electronics mentality. One of these initiatives is Last Year's Model [digg it?], an online "support group" for gadget-freaks encouraging each other to continue using the current model(s) and not upgrade for the sake of upgrading alone.
Among the online divas (oops! personalities) are Kevin Rose of Digg clinging on to his Canon Digital Rebel XTi (450D 400D) [reviews], Gina Trapani of Lifehacker, and Anil Dash of TypePad.
So if you have any stories of gadget-upgrade-restraint, share them at the Comments section of the Last Year's Model front page. You will get some good environmental karma, and at the same time, it is a good way to showcase your photography galleries and blogs.
To celebrate this, we are planning an upcoming post on older DSLR models. It will have a little bit of a comic twist, so you have been warned in advance!
