The DSLR Playoff Finals are here: Canon 5D Mark II vs Nikon D700

Just like the NBA, some playoff series end in seven games, some end in four games. The DSLR Playoff semifinals ended in "four games", with comfortable wins for the two remaining DSLRs who are meeting in the DSLR Finals!

The two hottest full-frame DSLRs had been on a collision course since the beginning, and here we are now, they are the last two DSLRs left standing, the Canon 5D Mark II and the Nikon D700.

As always, you vote, and you decide who wins with your vote. As with the previous rounds, we will end the vote at an undisclosed time, so as to prevent any last minute voting irregularities :) You can monitor the results by bookmarking the permalink of this blog post.

UPDATE! The referee has signaled the end of the game, the winner has been declared!

PS: As always, we never close any of the polls, since there is no reason to do so, so people who notice the poll after the results are in, can still vote!

The Nikon D700 got a surprisingly comfortable (okay, blowout) victory of 79-21 over the D3, while the Canon 5D Mark II met more resistance than expected but it defeated the resilient Nikon D300 56-44. Many D400 and D500 rumors were written about the D300's demise, yet the D300 is still around and selling just $300 less than its starting price.

The numbers you see in the voting box above, next to the camera name, are the price-ranking of each camera among all current DSLRs. The 5DMk2 is the 5th most expensive and the D700 is the 7th most expensive.

Please feel free to use the comments section below to make a case for your favorite camera, or if you have written a post on your blog or favorite forum why one is superior to the other, please let us know and we will add a link to it here.
