We recommend RSS feed subscriptions for this blog (see top right corner of the blog), because a number of our posts (new cameras, rumors, bargains, etc) are time-sensitive. However, RSS feeds are only used by a small percentage of the internet population, so we are offering an alternative for our readers who are not using RSS feeds.
We are offering (free of course) subscriptions by email, using the Feedburner-by-email service. This service sends an email once a day (usually in the morning) that contains all the blog posts that were posted since the previous email update.
The Feedburner software handles subscriptions and un-subscriptions. We are not using the email addresses of the subscribers for any purpose whatsoever. The only place the subscriber email addresses are kept is Feedburner, we do not store them on any of our servers or computers. We trust that Feedburner (and its Google mommie) can afford enough computers to make regular backups :-)
New feature question
If you want to be notified by email every time a new blog post is posted (we average about five new posts per day on this blog), we currently do not have an email service to do that. Feedburner only delivers updates once a day, whether you have 1 or 10 new blog posts since the previous update.
If there is enough interest in an email subscription service that sends a new email every time we post a new blog post, then please let us know so we can look into it further.
