Imaging Resource launches their new Image Stabilization test

One of the areas of gear testing that is still under development is finding a scientific method of testing the practical real-world benefits of image stabilization. If you are a forum dweller, you may have seen various discussions and suggestions for tests, including some creative DIY ideas.

So after two years of working on this, Imaging Resource has announced the publication of their first image stabilization test. The lens(e) receiving this hono(u)r is the Canon 70-200 f4L IS, which is tested at their sister site, SLRgear.com. They use two different test-photographers, one "steady" and one "shaky". Or maybe it's the same person after drinking three cups of coffee :)

They have lots of charts and graphs to satisfy the pixel-peepers, and be sure to mouse-over each graph, because it has more detailed data in its detailed view.

They also started a discussion thread at the SLR Gear forums for feedback, suggestions, questions and such.

And for those who speak computer-translated Japanese-to-English, this post is about "hand being off-center revision" :)
