New Nikon Coolpix P90 jumps to 24x zoom ratio, has tilting LCD (but no RAW)

The brand new Nikon P90 is "jumping" on the megazoom bandwagon as it boosts its zoom ratio to 24X. In contrast, the Coolpix P80 [reviews], which camera out in April 2008, had an 18X zoom ratio. Manual exposure is there, but sadly no RAW, not even the NRW-RAW of the P6000. The good news for fans of tilting and rotating LCDs, which we call "twist and shout" (or perhaps we should be calling "twist and shoot"), is that this camera has a 3" vari-angle LCD!

Main Nikon P90 specifications
+ 12mp 1/2.33" sensor
+ 24X zoom ratio (26-624mm eq) with ED glass
+ sensor-shift VR
+ 3" vari-angle LCD
+ PSAM (yes, manual exposure - sad that we actually celebrate this)
+ 15fps at 3mp or less
+ 0.24" EVF (230K)
+ modest 200 CIPA with EN-EL5 LiIon battery
+ face detection, and also butterfly smile and elephant snore detection
+ Japanese release is March 13 for 52,000 yen
+ pre-order at Amazon for $400
