New Lumix FS15 breaks Panasonic's megapixel-restraint with 12-megapixels
All good things come to an end eventually and so did Panasonic's megapixel-restraint. The new FS15, which follows-up on the FS20, jumps from 10mp to 12mp, and drops a whooping $100 from the starting price. And no, it is not a typo, the model name went from FS20 (2008) to FS15 (2009).
The "leader" of the new FS-trio "grows" its lens from a 4X (FS20) to a 5X, and its Leica-branded lens gets an extra millimeter wider, starting at 29mm. Some of the other key specs:
+ 1.7 fps burst mode (unlimited)
+ 2.7" LCD
+ LiIon battery (330 CIPA)
+ starting price is $200
+ available in black, blue or silver
This, along with the other three new Panasonic cameras have been added to the list of new digital cameras in 2009, which has now reached 40.
