Review Wars: SuperZooms Duel and Compact Group Test
Just posted, a head-to-head superzoom comparison between the Sony H50 vs the Canon SX10is at Digital Camera Review. Does the Sony H50 have a chance against the almighty Canon? The results and conclusions may surprise you!
Next up, at dpreview, episode #3 of their new (and exciting) group review extravaganza. This episode features a group test of six premium compacts. Of the six competing cameras, all but one have a sensor of the 1/1.7"-variety. The SD880is is the only one with a 1/2.3" sensor.
The competitors include three 15-megapixel models (Nikon S710, Panasonic FX150, Samsung NV100hd (TL34hd), one 14-megapixel model (Sony W300 (reviews)) and the more "modest" 12mp 1/1.6" Fuji F100fd (reviews).
So how do they stack up? As always no spoilers here, but if you are in hurry, the conclusions are on page #12. Two cameras of the six get a badge of "HRonor" (HRonor = high recommended honor), and one of the two is picked as the overall winner. The results may surprise you, although if you are a regular dpreview reader, you may have already guessed the two winners! :-)
