Housekeeping: Slight changes to the look and feel

As regular readers know, nothing stays put for long in this blog, so late yesterday we did some experimenting and made some changes that we hope can make this more user-friendly.

The most notable is the addition of headlines at the top of the main page. This will display the most recent posts and it is generated automatically thanks to Feedburner.

This is a bit different from the "Noisy Buzz" in the left column, which arranges headlines by importance. For example, a housekeeping blog update won't make it there, but if there was (or will be) a Nikon D3x or D4 announcement it will remain at the top of the list for a few days because it would be such a high-impact announcement.

The other change is the addition of a cool graphic in the right sidebar to make it easier for people to find the RSS subscription links.

And a minor change, the links to camera brand coverage, and the eight "hot camera" diaries at the top of the page are now using the same color (light blue) to create some separation from the banner above and the text below.
