Numbers: DSLR estimates worldwide (April-June 2008)

This thread in the dpreview forums has DSLR market estimates from a Japanese research firm for fiscal Q1 (April thru June, 2008). It is not clear whether the DSLR numbers are units sold, or units shipped or units manufactured. Whatever it is, Canon leads the way comfortably, followed by Nikon, with Sony at the #3 spot doubling up Olympus at the #4 spot. Another forum user adds new data to the discussion based on CIPA numbers.
