New Panasonic G-model with HD Video at PMA 2009
We forgot about this one, it got lost in the Canon "Moon" shuffle! Thanks to one of our regular readers for the reminder. This came out on September 17 in Japan, Nikkeibp was told of a new Lumix G camera to be announced in Spring 2009 (read: PMA) that would be able to shoot high-definition video and could come bundled with the road-mapped 14-140mm lens (eq: 28-280mm) for around 150 to 200 thousand yen.
This was boosted today at the press conference at Photokina 2008 with a number of photography websites writing about it: [Digital Camera Review | dpreview | Amateur Photographer UK]
But wait there's more! Let's Go Digital has posted G1 sample pictures, albeit these are resized to VGA size, larger sizes are are not available. [New!]
Also of interest, this presentation slide spotlighted in the Panasonic forum that shows what Panasonic estimates to be the potential size of the Micro Four Thirds market. I like the name "DSLR Intenders" :-)
